Update on Streetlights Replacement Project
Posted on Jun 19th, 2013
As part of the work in planning for the replacement of our lights, the Board engaged a structural engineer who inspected the bases of our current lights, and he identified several that he recommended we remove immediately , resulting in a few missing lights while we select new lights, poles, and bases and arrange for their installation.
The Committee recommends the use of LED technology, which will result in a major reduction in our electricity bills, may entitle us to substantial rebates, and makes it possible to target lighting to where it is needed, and not encroach into homeowners homes. We anticipate that shorter poles, possibly made of composite materials, will cost considerably less to purchase, install, and maintain than our current poles, and will also be much more attractive. Several potential vendors have been identified and are now working closely with our Site Manager, Jim Sawyer, to identify options we may wish to consider, and develop proposals to be considered by the Board.
For more detailed information on this project please see Report from Streetlights Committee, which was presented to the Queensgate Homeowners Association Board in February 2013, and is located in the Member Documents section of our website.
