Neighborhood Security Watch Committee - request for help
Posted on Dec 20th, 2021
Hello Queen's Gate Neighbors,
As many of you are likely aware, we are experiencing an increased rate of crimes in our community over the past several months. On Saturday, 18 December, a burglary occurred while the homeowners left their garage door open briefly. Larceny/theft occurred when the homeowners' surfboard and foiling equipment were stolen.
The Board of Directors plans to restart a Neighborhood Security Watch program in an effort to deter some of the criminal behavior. An NSW Committee is being formed to plan and implement the new NSW program. Board Director Shawna Bowman has offered to serve as interim chair of the committee.
Shawna and the Board need help from volunteers to assist with committee tasks planning and execution. The first committee meeting will be in early January.
All interested volunteers are welcome. Individuals with experience in law enforcement, security systems and/or Neighborhood Security Watch programs are desired. However, again, all are welcome. The amount of participation is up to the individual. Some may prefer to bring ideas to one meeting only. Others may seek to be longer-term participants.
Please indicate your interest by contacting our site manager, one of the Board Directors, or Touchstone Properties Management Co.
Mahalo and aloha,
Ron Harper, President, Queen's Gate Community Association Board of Directors
